The Carlyle Group, Collingswood, N.J., completed the merger of Wheatland Tube with Atlas Tube Inc. in December. The company also has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sharon Tube Co., which will be integrated into Wheatland Tube. The transaction was expected to close in the first quarter of 2007. Coastal Mechanical Services, Melbourne, Fla., has announced plans to build a 1.8 million dollars, 12,000-sq.-ft. addition that will house metal pipe cutting and assembly equipment, a 150,000 dollars spiral duct machine, and a crane. The existing sheet metal fabrication facility also will be upgraded.
