The regions are different, the weather is often different and the disease problems may be different, but these four growers have some common practices that earn them top yields year in and year out. Good crop rotations, use of resistant varieties andadhering to a strict fungicide program to reduce disease problems usually spell success for these growers. Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus wasn't a problem for Ricky Dowdy last year, but it has been in the past. To reduce the threat of this disease, he uses every possible tool at his disposal.
