Are you in the business of selling metals products or metal-based fabrications? If so, it is probably still unclear how and when your business should become involved in e-commerce. In fact, wide swings of opinion among pundits and consultants and the failure rate of dot-corn businesses may have left you feeling uncertain about pursuing e-commerce at all.One thing is certain: Business4o-business (B2B) e-commerce, particularly in a basic industry such as metals, is different from any sort of consumer-level e-commerce. Competitive pressures require carefully managed direct customer relations. A self-service Web interface seems misplaced, perhaps even foolish.
