In terms of DuPont's corporate profitability, the year 2009 was worse than any year since 2003. But, speaking to shareholders in February 2010, Ms Ellen Kullman (Chair & CEO) said: "We intend to emerge stronger in 2010 by building on the work we accomplished last year, with a focus on sales growth through market-driven innovation and operating leverage. We remain committed to compound annual growth targets of 10% for top-line (sales growth) and 20% for earnings growth through 2012."
