Tata Refractories Limited (TRL) was founded in 1958 by Tata Steel in technical collaboration with Didier Werke of Germany in order to meet the refractories needs of Tata Steel in particular and Indian steel industry in general. Another objective was to minimize import of refractories and manufacture quality refractories indige-nously. Since then TRL has come a long way in establishing itself as a no. 1 refractories company in India with a market share of about 19%. It now supplies to a wide range of ferrous and non ferrous industries such as iron & steel, glass, copper, aluminium, hydrocarbon, sponge iron, etc in India and abroad.
