摘要

This review is concerned with fast analytical methods to monitor the content of polychlorinated biphenyls in food. Emphasis is put on various sample preparation methods, which are often the bottleneck for time and efficiency in the overall analytical procedure. For solid samples, three commercial extraction techniques are discussed: supercritical fluid extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, and accelerated solvent extraction, all of which have the potential of replacing classical extraction methodology. For liquid samples, solid-phase extraction and solid-phase micro-extraction are evaluated. Additionally, a promising novel extraction methodology, extracting syringe, which is useful for handling of liquid samples, is mentioned since it is about to be commercially available. Finally, alternative methods to chromatography such as immuno- and bioassay methods are discussed.
