Kriging analysis has been used very extensively for statistical estimation of the magnitude of a spatial random variable, particularly in the mining Industry. The authors have applied the technique of kriging analysis for producing rainfall contour maps. A statistical framework has been used by the authors in describing the technique of kriging analysis in their paper. As discussed in Journel and Huijbregts (1978), kriging analysis is built upon the validity of the intrinsic hypothesis. A spatially random variable, Z(x), is considered to be 'intrinsic' if the following are satisfied.
