Temperature Performance and Usage Conditions of Domestic Refrigerator-freezers in Malaysia

摘要

A survey was conducted to investigate the temperature performance and usage conditions of domestic refrigerator-freezers in real kitchen environment. In this research, 26 domestic refrigerators-freezers were surveyed to get the minimum, maximum and average operating temperatures. The temperatures of the surveyed refrigerators were: minimum -2.8℃, average 2.0X, and maximum 7.5℃The statistical analysis such as clustering and segmentation were manipulated and utilised in order to clearly define particular parameters or regions of interest Various aspects including heat source, built-in, room temperature, and frequency of door openings per day, that affect temperature inside refrigerators-freezers were scrutinised and analysed in order to determine the usage behaviour amongst consumers. Once the actual usage behaviours could be made available, optimum behaviour could be formulated based on the research outcome using experience from other countries. Obviously, this will help to operate appliances in a better way, to save energy, money and prevent the environment from greenhouse gas emission, ozone depletion and so on.
