ALL producers are being asked to consider the strategic importance of NLIS to the beef industry's future. Mr Malcolm Foster, President of the Australian Lot Feeders Association has made this call to all producers. In the future low-cost competition will challenge Australia as a global beef supplier and we are not immune to this increased competition. Given our high levels of export exposure we have much to risk. However industry strategies mean that Australia can remain competitive and even out-compete these cost-basis challengers in our key beef markets.
