摘要

I thought that immunohaematology would be an appropriate subject for this lecture, taking place as it does during a joint meeting of the British Society for Haematology and the British Blood Transfusion Society. This could not be a 'state-of-the-art' lecture, as I have been retired now for over 4 years. However, I enjoy reminiscing, especially as I am now informed that this is considered to be a creative endeavour. Reflections may be of interest, being a distillation of one's thoughts, with, of course, the advantage of hindsight. This talk inevitably follows a very personal odyssey and for this I can only apologise.
