Citrus diseases in Florida and in other citrus growing areas in the U.S is a major concern among growers today. Yesterday it was citrus canker. Today it's 'huanglongbing' or citrus greening, a growers nightmare that is a serious disease for Florida's$9.3 billion citrus industry. Priority in citrus research and extension education is ongoing at UF's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, thanks to support from the Florida citrus industry, the state legislature and federal sources.
