'Less is more' sums up a new ultra durable, ultra thin surfacing gaining ground in the north east of England. And the product is ultra sustainable too. Ty Byrd reports. Steelflow is a road surfacing product whose characteristics lend themselves to the adjectival superlative 'ultra'. It is claimed to be a highly durable surfacing, is laid very thin indeed and has sustainability credentials that are close to impeccable. Steelflow is ultra suitable to the UK's straitened economic times and as such is gaining an enthusiastic following in and around south Yorkshire, where the material is produced. Local authorities there are finding they get more value for their money, especially in terms of square metres covered.
