摘要

This paper studies the use of guano as a substitute of DAP in tomatoes and soybeans production. Tomatoes and soybeans are cultivated in an experimental complete randomized block design, with three replications and six treatments. The control group (TO) is a treatment without fertilizer. A range of different doses of fertilizer (T1, T2, T3 and T4), corresponding to 0.6; 1.2; 2.4 and 4.8 t/ha for tomatoes and 0.5; 1; 2; and 4 for soybeans were applied; and finally, the last treatment contains a DAP fertilizer of 100 kg/ha. The results show that guano is an excellent fertilizer for these two crops. At the optimum dose, it increases the production of tomatoes 4 times, compared to the control treatment without fertilizer. Similarly, at the dose of 4 t/ha, it caused an increased soybean yield of 85% compared to the control treatment. In addition, the fertilizer has led to a higher profit than the DAP and a lower cost, even taking into account the handling. However its use in the cultivation of soybeans requires the use of fungicides, since it favours attacks by damping off and rust.
