The power of the electrical Systems of automobiles is growing constantly. New safety and comfort functions require more and more electricity. At the beginning of the 1 990's, 700 watt generators provided enough electricity for subcompacts; now they need a 1 kW generator. In mid-size cars, electrical equipment draws approximately 2 kW. Growing demands require optimal material, consequently, developers use silver and platinum for the contacts and copper for cable harnesses and the windings of the 100 or so electric motors that ensures the comfort and safety of the occupants of a automobile.
