The annual conference of the Western Turbine Users Inc. (WTUI), held in March in San Diego, CA, featured over 950 attendees from 28 nations, about one third of them first time attendees. That is a far cry from the group of 150 users that gathered for the first ever conference in 1990, and the 900 attendees last year. The conference for GE LM2500, LM5000, LM6000 and LMS100 users discussed the aeroderivative market, recent problems in operation and maintenance of these turbines, and solutions offered by the OEM, as well as repair companies.
