Information on variability, heritability and correlation coefficients is derived from data on 11 yield-related traits in 21 landraces of tef (Eragrostis tef) from the North Wollo region of Ethiopia grown at Debre Zeit during 1997. High estimates ofheritability with high genetic advance were found for days to maturity, grain filling duration and panicle length, important agronomic characters for selection in tef. Highly significant and positive correlation was found between grain yield and shoot biomass, plant height and panicle length, and panicle weight and panicle seed weight per plant.
