Up to the present, five species of the genus Chamalycaeus have been found from Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan (Kanda, 1992; Minato, 2005; Hamada, 2008)， i.e., C. japonicas (Martens, 1865), C. pilsbryi (Kobelt, 1902), C satsumanus (Pilsbry, 1902), C.takahashii Habe, 1976 and C. nishii Minato, 2005. Recently, I had an opportunity to examine specimens of a cyclophorid snail collected by Mr. Seiji Murohara from alimestone outcrop in Oita Prefecture in 2000， 2009 and 2010. As the result of my close examination, I recognized them to be an undescribed subspecies of Chamalycaeus takahashii on the basis of their shell morphology. Thus I here describe it as a new subspecies that is an addition to the Cyclophorid fauna of Japan.
