Meet Gertie - and, no, this pedigree Berkshire is not a Wordsworth freak. Her host of golden daffodils is all for a good cause. Gertie is helping Marie Curie Cancer Care, the UK's largest cancer care charity, with its daffodil campaign. The highlightis always Marie Curie Daffodil Day, which this year is on 15 March, or 1 March is you live in Wales. Thousands of volunteers take to the streets to hand out millions of fabric daffodil buttonholes in return for a donation. Gertie is one of those volunteers. Last year she raised over ￡100 in just two hours and her success has earned her celebrity status. She will be back on the streets of Tiverton on 15 March to help the charity raise S3 million nation-wide through the distribution of seven million daffodils.
