摘要

The decreasing in amount of ozone in the Antarctic causes a clear increase in ultraviolet radiation reaching the surface. This change imposes a significant effect on the polar biosphere and even on the global ecosystem. Since 1993, the radiation and ozone measurement system has been established in Chinese Antarctic base, Zhongshan Station (69°22'S, 76°22'E) as one of the programmes of the Chinese Antarctic Research Expedition. The data of the ultraviolet radiation and ozone amount have been obtained for the first time. In this note, the character of the ultraviolet and global radiation during the period from 1993-02 to 1994-12 will be analysed to deal with the relation between the decrease of Antarctic ozone in spring and the ultraviolet and global radiation.
