The idea of complex horo-hypercircle coordinate has been used to study the heat equation of a Hermitian symmetric space of Type III. By such coordinate the Laplace-Beltrami operator can be decomposed into the sum of two operators, the first one of which is a linear elliptic differential operator of second order with constant coefficients and the second one is a total differential operator. Now we extend this idea to real symmetric spaces.
