In recent years, some authors have tried to utilize the properties of chaos to implement a secure communication system. In their papers, secure communication via chaotic synchronization was experimentally demonstrated using Chua's circuit. Chaos is aform of random behavior that occurs in deterministic systems. When the values of certain parameters are suitable, under given initial conditions, deterministic motion will appear in the system, but this kind of long duration random motion is extremely sensitive to the initial conditions, and the slightest change in initial values will lead to completely different random behavior. However, this form of deterministic stochastic behavior differs fundamentally from the stochastic behavior of noise, such asBrownian motion. Noise obeys the laws of probability distribution and may be described by statistical methods, whereas chaotic motion, though also stochastic and unpredictable in behavior, is a form of solution of a deterministic equation and is reproducible under the same initial conditions.
