摘要

With the neutron activation analysis, Chinese scientists have determined the rare earth elements in seawater and its sediments, and Japanese scientists have determined the rare earth and uranium-thorium elements in the hot-spring water and crater lakewater of Japan since the 1980s. However, it is the first time to study those elements in high-salinity salt-lake brines and sediments. It will be significant not only for illustrating the distribution of rare earth elements in high-salinity waterbodiesbut also for the comprehensive utilization of salt-lake resources.
