NOWADAYS there are many skyscrapers in cities. If fire-damaged, the only way to lessen the damage and return them to normal is to repair or rebuild them, Concrete buildings usually do not collapse when they catch fire because of the fire resis-tance of the reinforced concrete; so it is important to assess the fire damage degree properly. The assessment of fire-damaged buildings has been carried out abroad. Some construction institutes at home recently began some preliminary research.
