摘要

CMT, a revolutionary new process for advanced twenty-first century arc welding applications, is profiled herein together with a number of application examples. In the wake of recent industrial progress and associated requirements for higher-precision, higher-class, lighter-weight products, applications of aluminium alloys are destined to expand in coining years. In the context of global warming, the years ahead will also see expanding applications of aluminium alloys to address environmental and energy problems, such as more widespread aluminizing of auto-bodies to create energy-saving and fuel-efficient vehicles. New uses and joining methods for aluminium alloys will thus emerge. As an epoch-making process able to meet these needs, the CMT process is expected to see further advances in future.
