"Piast" mine belongs to largest mines of Kompania Weglowa SA producing steam coal. Steam coal fines constituting 80 percent of the mine's output have the sulphur and ash content and thermal value considerably worse than the average in other mines. Therefore at the end of 1995, the Supervisory Board of the then Nadwislanska Coal Company SA expressed its agreements for commencing of preparation process for construction of fine steam coal preparation plant at ,,Piast" mine. The article presented the status of advancement of the investment. It stressed the necessity to realise the investment in stages. This solution was accepted as advantageous because of the possibility for a successive commencing of operation by particular sections of coal preparation plant and their utilisation in current production of the mine.
