摘要

A very simple unidirectional finite difference model was presented to analyze the temperature of a very fine wire threaded through a fluidized bed after first going through a preheating furnace, which is used for the intermediate heat treatment of a steel tire cord.The validity and precision of the proposed model were verified by measuring the temperature of the wire threaded through a prototype machine.The analyzed results made it clear that the key factors to high precision are the optimizations of thermal emissivity and coefficient of heat transfer.If the metallographical information gives a desired thermal history of the intermediate wire for obtaining an aimed microstructure, it is then possible to determine the operational conditions of the fluidized bed and preheating furnace by iteratively using the proposed model.The propose model is a very simple one and can be used for designing the optimum geometries of the preheating furnace and fluidized bed.
