Anixter International Inc. announced that more than 95 percent of shareholders have given their okay to its bid to buy U.K.-based Infast Group Plc, a distributor of fasteners and other inventory components to OEMs in a deal valued at 72.2 million dollars. A press release from U.S.-based Anixter International, which notes that Infast Group's board of directors has already approved the deal, said that the deal, once completed, will result "in Anixter's proforma annual 2005 projected sales in this market of approximately 755 million dollars." The offer, it noted, requires a minimum acceptance level of 90 percent.
