摘要

Central burst defects in aluminum wiredrawing under axisymmetric deformation was investigated based on the criterion proposed by Avitzur. The following conclusions were obtained: In addition to the geometrical factors, strain-hardening is an important parameter related to central burst defects in wiredrawing. When performing multipass drawing, metals show different behavior with respect to the central burst due to a new yield stress in each pass, particularly in cold drawing. The possibility of the occurrence of central burst increases with a decrease in the strain-hardening exponent. Predictions based on work hardening were in good agreement with experimental results and previous work.
