It is about fifty years since dyadic Green' s functions (DGF) were used to solve electromagnetic boundary problems. However, by 1971 the DGF under normal boundary conditions had been studied systematically with the method of Ohm-Rayleigh by C. T. Tai,Afterwards, C. T. Tai presented the method of G_m for solving irrotational vector fields. For some complicated systems such as dielectric loaded systems, layered dielectric systems and combined systems, it is difficult to determine M and N, and it is very difficult and complicated to derive their DGF. To solve those problems, Song Wenmiao presented a method by which DGF were solved by means of scalar Green's functions. However, the method in ref. [3] is only suited to solving the DGF of solenoidal vector fields, but not suited to deriving the DGF of irrotational fields. Improving the method in ref. [3], we develop a structural method in this note for solving DGF. It is suited to solving both the DGF of irrotational fields and the DGF of solenoidal fields.
