The metal oxide dissolved in pure copper is usually cuprous oxide (Cu_2O), so the deoxidization of pure copper means the reduction of cuprous oxide to copper by adding deoxidizers such as an element, It is required that the oxide of this element mustbe more stable than Cu_2O, i.e. its decomposition pressure is less than that of Cu_2O. The more the difference of pressure betweeri Cu_2O and the oxide of deoxidizer, the better the effect of deoxidization. Phosphorus is widely used as a deoxidizer of pure copper in industry, but the dissolved phosphorus can greatly reduce the conductivity of copper. It is very difficult to obtain the optimum combination of deoxidization effect and high conductivity, so it is urgent to find an new deoxidizer with better deoxidization, and without reducing the conductivity of copper.
