摘要

The largest salmon-restoration hatchery in Europe reports optimism about soon finalizing a new financing arrangement with the French Ministry of the Environment towards assuring the future of the program. Patrick Martin, manager of the newly-renamed Conservatoire National du Saumon Sauvage (National Salmon Conservation and Restoration Hatchery) at Chanteuges on the upper Allier River, said that the funding partnerships used to establish the hatchery in 2000 and run it for the subsequent six years are about to expire, and he has been in discussions with the French government about transforming the operation into a nonprofit company aimed at stabilizing the facility for the foreseeable future.
