摘要

Crawler travel gears are very complex kinematic systems. This applies in particular to so-called chain link travel gears. Rather than using the connecting pins of the chain for transmitting power, in chain link travel gears power is transmitted via the teeth on the chain link and a gear rim (cam ring) located at the driving gear. The driving gear consists of a tread permitting the crawler pads to be positioned and to wrap themselves around the driving gear. Chain link travel gears are used for high machine weights and when low structural overall heights are required, e.g. in the domain of mining for bucket wheel excavators or spreaders used in opencast mines.
