摘要

Using the partial hydrolysate of alkoxysilane and acidic hydrolysis catalysts, a silane sol-gel coating composition having a certain degree of storage stability can be prepared. This composition,however, is limited to an organic alcohol system. Using an amount of water for full hydrolysis of alkoxysilanes and high solids content can lead to a drastic reduction in the storage stability of the system. In the course of preparing a coating composition, it becomes difficult to control the hydrolytic condensation of silane, leading to molecular weight build up and gelation.
