Indoor and outdoor O{sub}3, NO, NO{sub}2{sup}* (NO{sub}x-NO) were monitored in two buildings, along with CO{sub}2, temperature, relative humidity and incoming solar radiation. Both buildings have natural lighting, natural ventilation and similar use. The first building is old, built with stone, whilst the other is built with modern materials, such as plastic and metal. The difference in building construction materials is reflected in the indoor/outdoor (I/O) air pollutant concentration ratios, as well as in indoor climatic conditions. Modern building design combined with strong daylight, usually encountered in Greece, can lead to elevated indoor photo chemically related air pollutants and to micro-climatic conditions which create discomfort for people.
