摘要

Data retention, regulatory compliance, and security requirements are increasing by explosive information growth and government regulations. Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) has gotten a lot of attention as a solution for these requirements recently. Now there is an emphasis on more complete policy control of information. In this paper we proposed a policy-based ILM system and a policy verification method. The main feature of the method is 'obligation policy' as approximation of a policy description person's intention, and 'knowledge' about conflicts among policy rules. Examples of policy verification in the case of the ILM in a research laboratory office are also described.
