摘要

We have calculated the mean absorption coefficient for CO_(2) thermal plasma, at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range between 300 and 30000K. The plasma is supposed to be in local thermodynamic equilibrium and to correspond to a gray body medium in several frequency intervals. This study takes into account the radiation resulting from the atomic continuum, the molecular continuum, the O_(2) molecular bands and from the atomic lines. The results show the phenomenon of self-absorption in the visible and UV parts of the spectrum, and the influence of the plasma thickness on the mean absorption coefficient.
