摘要

Bambusa bambos, commonly known as"Kande Bans" (the 'n' in both words for nasal sound), is available in the eastern Terai (plains) of Nepal. This species is widely used for scaffoldings, as well as for cooking fuel. The livestock cannot forage aroundthis species because of the spines in the branches. In eastern Nepal there is a city called Dharan. A few kilometers above the city, there is a temple called Buda Subba. There are three clumps of Bambusa bambos around this temple, and some of the culms there do not have their top portion.
