Last August 2004 the Texas Bamboo Society invited me to speak at the Bamboo Festival at Zilker Botanical Gardens. The event features bamboo arts, crafts, music, dance and plants. It is free and open to the public. My topic was simply bamboo identification. I also gave another talk concerning the "Bamboo of the Americas" conservation program.
