SPARTA Composite Products (San Diego, Calif., a business unit of SPARTA Inc. and a subsidiary of Cobham North America) was awarded a contract by the Raytheon/Lockheed Martin JAVELIN Joint Venture to continue production of composite airframe components for the JAVELIN Missile, the first man-portable medium-range missile system, already combat proven in Afghanistan and Iraq by U.S. and allied troops. This award was made in conjunction with the JAVELIN JVs recent reception of a 111.6 million dollars (USD) U.S. Army Global War on Terror supplemental contract for additional JAVELIN missiles and their command launch units.
