Ona public level, theameni-ty sector has been seen as the poor relation in the great debate on the use of pesticides. Overshadowed by how the new EU legislation is likely to impact on food-growing, the consequences the new rules may have for the maintenance of parks, sports grounds and other public spaces have been largely ignored. But this situation has not been caused by a lack of effort on the part of the Amenity Forum, which has been lobbying and consulting with Government on the issues sinceits inception in 2003.
