Any employer would generally agree that employing staff is expensive. Alongside basic pay, there are other "on-costs" likely to rise at some point such as national insurance, the minimum wage and, for many firms, the introduction of compulsory employer pension contributions. So no wonder it is vital to get recruitment right in the first place.In landscaping, direct labour costs usually outweigh products and materials, and in garden retail the labour cost is generally second only to the cost of goods sold.
