Under certain conditions, i.e. wind velocity and surrounding terrain, twin bundled conductors or quadruple bundles of overhead transmission fines are aerodynamically unstable. This instabilities are due to the leeward conductor lying in the wake of the windward one. Using quasi-steady linear flutter theory, [3,5,6], we predict flutter boundaries such as flutter regions of the leeward conductor and critical flutter velocities. As the linear model is incapable of predicting the characteristics of the resulting limit-cycle, a nonlinear model is used to investigate the post-bifurcational behaviour by the aid of the two time scale method.
