摘要

A challenge for parallel iterative solvers in nonlinear shell analysis comes from the fact that shell analyses inherently tend to be ill conditioned problems. This challenge becomes especially pronounced when three-dimensional shell formulations - including thickness change - are used. A preconditioning idea for such models along with its advantageous influence on the performance of (parallel) iterative solvers is introduced and discussed in this paper. [References: 3]
