The reaction of (CuOBu)-Bu-t with PMe3 and Bi(SiMe3)(3) in hexane yields the phosphine-stabilized complex [(Me3Si)(2)Bi-Cu(PMe3)(3)]. This synthesis gave rise to the first binuclear Bi-Cu compound to be structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. [References: 13]
