To investigate the interactions between noncovalent bond donor and acceptor giving rise to three dimensional networks, compound [Pb(tfpb)(2)](n) (Htfpb = 4,4,4-trifluoro-l-phenyl-1,3-butanedione) has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, and C-13 NMR spectroscopy and its crystal structure was investigated. The single-crystal structure of the compound show the coordination number of Pb(II) to be eight with six O-donor atoms from a "tfpb" ligand and two F-donors from the anionic ligands. The supramolecular structure of 1 is realized by weak directional C-F center dot center dot center dot F-C and pi-pi stacking interactions.
