摘要

A novel decaborate compound, [Ag(py)(2)](2)[B10O14(OH)(4)] (py = pyridine) (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, FTIR, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c (No. 14), a = 15.7115(7), b = 13.1477(6), c = 16.9463(8) angstrom, beta = 105.2690(2)degrees, V = 3377.0(3) angstrom(3), and Z = 4. The structure of the compound consists of infinite unusual wave-like borate chains constructed from large [[B10O14(OH)(4)](2-) groups. It represents the first example of a one-dimensional borate templated by a transition metal complex. Adjacent borate chains are further linked together by extensive hydrogen bonds to form a 3D supramolecular network with regular cyclic- and ellipse-like channels, in which the transition metal templates [Ag(py)2](+) reside.
