Dilithium derivatives of bis(silylamino)fluorosilanes (1-3) react with chlorotrimethylsilane to give dilithium derivatives of the corresponding bis(silylamino)chlorosilanes and Me3SiF. LiCl-elimination in the presence of THF leads to the formation of silaamidides, which are isolated as dimers, four-membered cyclosilazane anions. (R'Si-NR)(2)Li(NR)(2)(-), Li(THF)(4)(circle plus) (4, 6), and (THF)(3)Li-Cl-Li(THF)(3)(circle plus) (5) cations. Hydrolysis of the dimeric silaamidides is the only but facile synthesis of cyclodisilazanes in cis-conformation (7 -9). 1, 4, 7: R = Si(CMe3)(2)Me, R' = F; 2, 5, 8: R = SiMe2CMe3, R' = CMe3; 3, 6, 9: SiMe2CMe3, R = C6H5.
