摘要

A study was conducted in Sao Paulo, Brazil, based in interviews with the mothers or caretakers of children who did not take the measles vaccines on the correct schedule as of 2000. Sixty-one children with a complete measles vaccination status and 61 controls were found and their mothers/caretakers were interviewed. The only demographic variable associated with delay in measles vaccination was the lack of a formal profession among parents/caregivers. Families composed of mother and father living together did not vaccinate their children on time and tended to delay or anticipate their shots. Most of the individuals who fear injections delay the measles vaccination for 10 days.
