In July, export quotations for Russian steam coal have stabilized at the Far Eastern ports due to weaker demand from Chinese consumers. At the end of the month, contracts for supplies of 6,080 kcal/kg Russian Kuzbass steam coal to South Korea, China and Taiwan have been concluded at $122/t FOB Vostochny. Japanese companies are buying Russian material (6,150-6,200 kcal/kg) at $135-138/t FOB Vanino. Australian steam coal (6,300 kcal/kg) costs $120-122/t FOB Newcastle, while Indonesian one of 5,900 kcal/kg is available at $96-100/t FOB Kalimantan.
