The late 2008 acquisition of United States-based Grey Wolf Inc. and a foreign exchange gain helped Precision Drilling Trust more than double second quarter profits while boosting revenue 51% to $209.6 million from $138.51 million during the same period fast year. Precision, which last year expanded in the U.S. with its $2.1 billion (U.S.) acquisition of Grey Wolf, posted a second quarter profit of $57.48 million, a 164% improvement over net earnings of $21.74 million during the three months ended June 30, 2008 (see tables).
